53 (RAA 21G) from the
second batch of Seddon Pennines with Pennine bodywork passing under Wych Lane
arch. The route is Crossways Broadway, Fareham. Crossways Broadway is
actually two locations. The Crossways is the end of Forton Road by the old
Criterion cinema. Nigel Newman tells me the building can't have been known as
The Criterion for at least 25 years, yet the bus stop opposite is still named
'Criterion'!). The route to the Broadway (Palmyra Road in Elson) was via San
Diego Road and Melville Road - one of the 87s (87A or B) still follows this
route.
